Founded in 2010, Project Moshen set out to revive the style of jazz dance in Philadelphia. Combining the artistic side and the commercial side of dance, Artistic Director Kelli Moshen, blends the two styles & elements together to showcase her fast, intricate, urban style of jazz dance.

Project Moshen produces two shows a year, performs at various events, visits schools in the community, and holds master classes at Philadelphia area universities. Through these efforts, the company hopes to spread their passion, creativity, and knowledge of jazz dance to the community, along with bringing this style of jazz back to life in Philadelphia.

Free performance by Project Moshen followed by a family fun dance class hosted by the company, funded by the City of Philadelphia’s Arts in Action Initiative managed by the Office of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy.

Project Moshen coincides with Smith Playground for a free family friendly show full of versatile, upbeat, powerful dances that bring the community together. An opportunity to celebrate differences and while connecting through a communal experience from a free class taught by the Project Moshen dancers themselves after the show. An uplifting experience to bring together the arts, families, and their community. Our all women performing arts company will come together to inspire children, teens, and adults to get up and move to the music!
